Tata Motors Brings Revolutionary Change in the CNG Segment

New Delhi: India's leading automotive manufacturer, Tata Motors, is consistently working to enhance the CNG vehicle segment. With a strong product portfolio and strategic initiatives, the company has firmly established itself as a market leader. By the first half of FY 2024, Tata Motors achieved an impressive 21.1% market share in the entire CNG segment. In Uttar Pradesh, the share of CNG vehicles in the brand's total car sales stood at 26%, reflecting robust regional growth.

Tata Motors' commitment to eco-friendly mobility is clearly visible through its proactive approach to adopting emerging automotive trends. Popular models such as the Tiago, Tigor, Nexon, Altroz, and Punch have significantly contributed to boosting CNG sales. In the first half of FY 2024, these models accounted for 22%, 48%, 30%, 32%, and 35% of the brand’s national sales, respectively. Among them, Tata Punch emerged as the best-selling CNG model, followed by the Nexon, Altroz, Tigor, and Tiago.

Nexon iCNG: A Revolutionary SUV
In September 2024, Tata Motors launched the Nexon iCNG, India’s first SUV equipped with Twin-Cylinder Technology. Powered by a 1.2-liter turbocharged engine, it generates 100 PS of power and 170 Nm of torque, offering a perfect balance between performance and fuel efficiency. The innovative twin-cylinder setup optimizes space, providing an impressive 321-liter boot capacity, setting a new standard in the CNG segment.

The Nexon iCNG comes loaded with premium features, including ventilated leather seats, a 10.25-inch Harman infotainment system, a panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control, and an air purifier, enhancing the overall driving experience.

Punch iCNG: The King of Sub-Compact SUVs
Launched in August 2023, the Punch iCNG has rapidly gained popularity in the sub-compact SUV segment. Equipped with Twin-Cylinder Technology, it offers optimized boot space and direct CNG mode start functionality.

In the first half of FY 2024, the Punch iCNG achieved 68% market share in its segment. Its 5-star GNCAP rating highlights its leadership in safety.

Altroz iCNG: Setting New Trends in Premium Hatchbacks
Launched in May 2023, the Altroz iCNG features Twin-Cylinder Technology and holds a 5-star Global NCAP safety rating. It comes with voice-assisted electric sunroof and a 360-degree camera, making it one of the most premium offerings in the hatchback segment.
