Shashank's Stellar Performance Leads Shri Sahyak Club to Full Points

Prayagraj: In the ongoing Kayasth Pathshala Cricket Tournament, Shri Sahyak Cricket Club began their campaign with a 43-run victory over Daulat Hussain Inter College. Shashank Mehrotra played a key role in the win, scoring an impressive 87 runs off 57 balls, including 13 fours and 1 six, and also taking 3 wickets for 32 runs.

The match was held on Tuesday at the KP College ground. After losing the toss, Shri Sahyak Cricket Club batted first and scored 186 runs in 33.1 overs. Shashank's unbeaten 87, along with contributions from Prashant Pandey (24) and Anuj Kumar Sharma (16), helped the team set a competitive total. Daulat Hussain Inter College's bowlers, including Kaushal Srivastava (3/48) and Akhilesh Yadav (2/17), did their best, but were unable to restrict the runs sufficiently.

In response, Daulat Hussain Inter College was bowled out for 143 runs in 36.2 overs. Key contributions from Ansh Ahmed (30), Irshad Ahmed (29), and Mo Taimur (28) were not enough to get their team over the line. Shri Sahyak's bowlers, including Gulshan Verma (3/19), Ashwani Tiwari (3/28), and Shashank Mehrotra (3/32), delivered excellent performances to seal the win.

After the match, former railway player Prashant Khare presented Shashank Mehrotra with the 'Man of the Match' award.
