Indian Railways' Exhibition at Mahakumbh 2025 Showcases Heritage and Innovation

Prayagraj: Mahakumbh 2025 is not only a spiritual and cultural gathering but also a platform showcasing India's infrastructural advancements. In line with this vision, Indian Railways has set up a remarkable exhibition, displaying its historical legacy and modern innovations. From managing record-breaking crowd movements to introducing cutting-edge trains, the exhibition is a testament to India's railway evolution.

A Showcase of Engineering Marvels
At the heart of the exhibition, two of India's most iconic railway bridges—Chenab Bridge and Pamban Bridge—have been displayed as scale models. The Chenab Bridge in Jammu & Kashmir is the world’s tallest railway bridge, standing 359 meters above the riverbed—35 meters taller than the Eiffel Tower. The Pamban Bridge, connecting Rameswaram to mainland India, is India’s first fully automated vertical lift sea bridge.

Introduction to India's Next-Gen Trains
The exhibition also features Indian Railways' latest high-speed and technologically advanced trains:

Amrit Bharat Express – A superfast express designed for long-distance journeys.
Namo Bharat Train – India’s first EMU (Electric Multiple Unit) train, capable of covering the Meerut-Ashok Nagar route in just 40 minutes.
Vande Bharat Sleeper Train – The newest addition to the Vande Bharat series, offering superior comfort for overnight travel.
Railways' Contribution to India's History
Apart from showcasing technological progress, the exhibition highlights Indian Railways' contributions to national security. It features insights into its role during the 1965, 1971, and Kargil wars, emphasizing its strategic importance in military logistics.

Enhancing Pilgrim Experience at Mahakumbh
To facilitate seamless travel for devotees, Indian Railways has set up temporary ticket counters, multilingual inquiry booths, electronic display boards, and an advanced announcement system at Mahakumbh. Special trains have also been arranged to connect major pilgrimage sites across the country.
