New Delhi. Northern Railway celebrated its 69th Railway Week with a grand award ceremony held at the National Rail Museum, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi, on January 23, 2025. General Manager Shri Ashok Kumar Verma presided over the function, accompanied by Shri Mohit Chandra, Additional General Manager, along with senior officials, staff members, and representatives of unions and associations.

During the event, 104 Northern Railway employees, including officers and staff, were felicitated for their outstanding contributions. Based on performance-oriented parameters, 54 running shields were awarded to various units. Delhi Division emerged as the best-performing division across all fields, while Lucknow Division was recognized for its economical operations. Moradabad Division received the shield for the most improved performance.

In his address, Shri Verma praised the tireless efforts and achievements of the employees in enhancing the zone's functionality. He highlighted major infrastructure milestones, such as the inauguration of the Jammu Division by the Hon'ble Prime Minister, and announced that the Jammu-Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla rail link would soon connect the Kashmir Valley to the rest of India. The Kangra Valley narrow gauge line will also be operational under the Jammu Division.

Shri Verma extended his congratulations to the awardees and their families and acknowledged the 10 employees honored with the prestigious “Ati Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar” by Union Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw.

These awards celebrate the dedication, efficiency, and exceptional contributions of Northern Railway personnel, furthering its mission to create a safer, more passenger-friendly railway network.
