Use of AI Technology in Kumbh Preparation, Innovation in Cleanliness and Arrangements
AI technology is being used to improve cleanliness and arrangements for Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj. Director Vinay Kumar Jha praised the innovations made by the Nagar Nigam under the Smart City project, highlighting the AI-based waste management and solution-oriented work.

Prayagraj: In preparation for Kumbh Mela 2025, AI (Artificial Intelligence) is being effectively utilized to ensure cleanliness and improve arrangements in Prayagraj. Vinay Kumar Jha, Director of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, visited the Nagar Nigam office and inspected the newly established Solid Waste Management Control Room in the Smart City building.
Director Vinay Jha praised the work done by the Nagar Nigam, noting that AI is being used to quickly address problems such as street litter, encroachments, malfunctioning street lights, and stray animals. He mentioned that it is commendable that 70 kilometers of main roads are cleaned daily by the Nagar Nigam.
Under the Smart City project, the Nagar Nigam has also established Uttar Pradesh’s first C&D (Construction and Demolition) Plant in Prayagraj. Vinay Jha inspected this plant and described it as an important step toward innovation. Additionally, he also visited the Baswara Legacy Site.
Vinay Kumar Jha expressed satisfaction with the preparations for Kumbh 2025, calling the efforts of the Nagar Nigam both satisfactory and praiseworthy. He emphasized that the innovations being implemented to ensure cleanliness and provide facilities for the devotees will be effective, creating a strong foundation for the upcoming Kumbh Mela.
