New Delhi. To ensure seamless travel for pilgrims during Kumbh Mela 2025, the Northern Railway’s Delhi Division successfully operated 1,543 trains, transporting approximately 7.6 lakh passengers from major stations in the Delhi region.

Since the commencement of Kumbh Mela on January 13, 2025, Northern Railway has been running special trains in addition to regular services to key stations, including Prayag Junction, Subedarganj, Prayagraj Rambagh, Prayagraj Junction, and Phaphamau Junction.

Between January 12, 2025, and February 21, 2025, Delhi Division operated 108 special trains dedicated to Kumbh Mela pilgrims. During this period, 1,435 regular trains were also utilized to manage the passenger rush efficiently.

From January 12, 2025, to February 14, 2025, Delhi region railway stations, including New Delhi, Delhi Junction, and Anand Vihar Terminal, witnessed a footfall of approximately 4.3 lakh reserved ticket holders and 3.3 lakh unreserved passengers traveling to Kumbh Mela.

The railway authorities ensured smooth travel by increasing train frequency, deploying additional staff, and implementing crowd management strategies at key stations. The initiative highlights Northern Railway’s commitment to facilitating hassle-free transportation for one of the world's largest religious gatherings.
