Mahakumbh Nagar: The banks of the Ganga transformed into a sanctuary of spirituality and melody as celebrated playback singer and composer Shankar Mahadevan enchanted the audience with his devotional renditions at the Ganga Pandal. The event, part of the grand cultural program ‘Sanskriti Ka Sangam’ organized by the Department of Culture, commenced with unmatched fervor.
Shankar Mahadevan’s soulful presentation of the iconic song "Chalo Kumbh Chalein" struck a chord with the devotees, creating an atmosphere of devotion and unity. The inaugural evening of the Mahakumbh soiree was blessed with the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, who lit the ceremonial lamp to mark the beginning of this monumental event.
In his heartfelt address, Mahadevan expressed his gratitude for participating in the Mahakumbh and thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for their visionary leadership in organizing this magnificent celebration of India’s spiritual heritage.
The night’s program included a powerful rendition of "Ganesh Vandana" that filled the Ganga Pandal with divine energy. As the evenings unfold, the program promises captivating performances by luminaries such as Kailash Kher, Hariharan, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Nitin Mukesh, and Suresh Wadkar. The cultural evenings will continue daily until February 24, showcasing India’s rich musical and artistic traditions.
