Civil Defense Ensures Success of Eat Right Mela 2025
Civil Defense volunteers played a key role in the successful execution of Eat Right Mela 2025 in Lucknow.

Lucknow: The ‘Eat Right Mela 2025’ was successfully organized at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, Vibhuti Khand, Gomti Nagar, with enthusiastic participation from Civil Defense volunteers. The event commenced with a walkathon at 7 AM, witnessing the participation of hundreds of people promoting a healthy lifestyle.
The chief guest, Uttar Pradesh Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna, inaugurated the event and emphasized the importance of balanced nutrition and health awareness.
Civil Defense's Vital Contribution : Manoj Verma, a Civil Defense officer honored with the President’s Medal, highlighted the significant role played by the volunteers. He stated that the primary objective of the event, organized by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) and the Food Safety and Drug Administration Department, was to raise awareness about healthy and balanced eating.
More than 150 Civil Defense volunteers actively contributed to ensuring the smooth conduct of the program. Their presence not only maintained order but also motivated attendees to adopt healthier lifestyles.
Health Awareness and Engagement : Throughout the event, various interactive sessions and demonstrations emphasized the importance of nutrition, fitness, and overall well-being. Volunteers engaged the audience through informative activities, encouraging them to make informed dietary choices.
Upon the request of Assistant Commissioner of Food, Vijay Kumar Singh, and under the guidance of Deputy Controller Anita Pratap and Chief Warden Amarnath Mishra, the Civil Defense team extended its dedicated support. Key contributors included Assistant Deputy Controller Mukesh Kumar, Staff Officer Rajendra Kumar Srivastava, and volunteers such as Nafees Ahmed, Arvind Mishra, Ramgopal Singh, Rajendra Prasad, Pradeep Sharma, Mohammad Ahmed, Sheshmani, Rajesh, Shoaib, Omkar, Rajat Rajput, and Pankaj Mishra.
