Mahakumbh 2025: Aiming for a World Record in Cleanliness

Mahakumbh Nagar, Prayagraj: The grand Mahakumbh 2025 is not just a spiritual congregation but also a platform for setting world records in cleanliness. On Friday, more than 300 sanitation workers participated in a synchronized cleaning drive at multiple ghats of the sacred Ganga River, marking a significant step toward environmental preservation. Now, on Saturday, the Mahakumbh administra0tion plans to set another world record with 15,000 sanitation workers conducting the largest synchronized sweeping drive across the fairgrounds.

Ganga Cleanup Drive Sets a New Benchmark
The cleanliness initiative, undertaken at Ram Ghat, Bharadwaj Ghat, and Gangeshwar Ghat, has been recorded as a historic effort. Representatives from the Guinness Book of World Records were present to verify the attempt. The workers engaged in an intensive cleaning drive for over 30 minutes, reinforcing the message of environmental responsibility.

According to Special Officer Akanksha Rana, the initiative aligns with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision to make Mahakumbh 2025 an eco-friendly global event. She stated, “Preserving the sanctity and purity of the Ganga is our top priority. This world record attempt is a step towards achieving that goal.”

Saturday’s Mega Synchronized Cleaning Drive
Building on Friday’s success, the Mahakumbh administration has scheduled an even bigger challenge for Saturday. A staggering 15,000 sanitation workers will participate in a coordinated cleaning campaign, aiming to set a world record for the largest synchronized sweeping activity. This attempt will break the previous record of 10,000 participants set in 2019.

Global Recognition & Certification Process
The entire process is being recorded and will undergo verification by Guinness World Records representatives, along with environmentalists and MNIT professors acting as independent witnesses. Official video documentation will ensure that the record is acknowledged globally.

Commitment to Environmental Protection
The Mahakumbh is not just a religious spectacle but a movement toward ecological conservation. Various initiatives, such as the "One Plate, One Bag" campaign, have been introduced to reduce plastic waste and ensure a cleaner riverbank.

With millions of devotees expected to take a dip in the sacred waters, authorities are dedicated to maintaining high environmental and hygiene standards. The Mahakumbh administration’s commitment to sustainability is evident through these groundbreaking efforts, ensuring that the event remains a beacon of spirituality, culture, and ecological awareness.
