Mahakumbh 2025: Prayagraj Fully Prepared Grand Festival of Sanatan Culture
Prayagraj : The arrival of devotees and ascetics for the first bathing ritual of Mahakumbh 2025, on the occasion of Poush Purnima (January 13, 2025), has begun. This grand Mahakumbh festival, which embodies the glory of Indian culture and spirituality, will be celebrated in Prayagraj, where devotees will gather to take a holy dip in the Sangam and perform religious rituals.
Mahakumbh has been recognized by UNESCO as an "Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity," and it is the largest religious, cultural, and spiritual gathering in the world. The mela area along the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj has been expanded to 4000 hectares, with 800 additional hectares developed since 2019. The area has been divided into 25 sectors, where devotees will find better facilities and a glimpse of Sanatan culture and spiritual pride.
Under the leadership of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, administrative arrangements have been strengthened for the Mahakumbh. The establishment of Mahakumbhnagar district has been a crucial step towards organizing the event efficiently and systematically.
On Poush Purnima and Makar Sankranti, millions of devotees are expected to gather for the holy bath at Sangam. Devotees and ascetics will immerse themselves in the sacred waters. The state government has ensured the safety and convenience of pilgrims, providing facilities such as tents, electricity, water, toilets, and more.
This grand event will stand as a unique symbol of Sanatan culture and spiritual glory.
