Doctors doing PG in Hematology participated
Shubham Kashyap Lucknow. Under the aegis of Uttar Pradesh Hematology Group, lectures on important topics were organized on the second day of the first annual conclave at Atal Bihari Bajpayee Convention Center KGMU on Sunday.
Organizing Secretary Dr. SP Verma said that in the first session on the second day of the seminar, doctors doing PG in Hematology in the institutes of the state participated. In which the team of BHU got the first position, the team of RML Lucknow got the second position and the team of MLN Prayagraj got the third position. The winners were awarded by Vice Chancellor Prof. Sonia Nityanand.

Thalassemia patients have the problem of iron overload. This happens due to repeated blood transfusion. Dr. RK Jena, who came from Orissa, explained in detail how to treat such patients.
Abhay Bhave, who came from Mumbai, while speaking on the topic of anemia, said that iron deficiency is a common problem. Iron tablets are used in its treatment. He said that in difficult circumstances, giving iron intravenously is appropriate and it is also safe.

Dr. Tathagata Chatterjee, who came from Faridabad, told about the usefulness of modern methods like NGS i.e. Next Generation Sequencing in diseases like Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
During the last session, Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. Sonia Nityanand emphasized on the quality of research and said that the findings from research determine the direction of treatment of patients. The collective effort of various departments in the treatment of the patient provides holistic and completeness to the treatment.
